Haunted Car Wash Brings COVID-Free Thrills
From Oct. 28 to 31, Brittain's Car Wash, 1572 Larkin Avenue, will be transformed into Brittain's Tunnel of Terror.
ELGIN, IL — An Elgin car wash is getting creative this Halloween and hosting a "germ-free" haunted house. From 6 to 10 p.m. from Oct. 28 to Oct. 31, Brittain's Car Wash, 1572 Larkin Avenue, will be transformed into Brittain's Tunnel of Terror.
Those stopping out can get their car cleaned while be surrounded by ghosts and ghouls as well as some frightful special effects, according to a news release. The cost is $20 per car and includes a Platinum Clean car wash.
Car wash owners Mike and Laurel Warren plan to donate $5 from each car wash to the Food for Greater Elgin to help people with food insecurity in the Elgin area. They said the organization is feeding 20 percent more people during COVID-19 so they wanted to "give the community something fun to do, but also help people in need."
