Heavy Rains Flood, Close Streets In Elgin
Police said streets on the east side of Elgin were under water Tuesday night.

ELGIN, IL – Heavy rain on Tuesday has left some streets in Elgin under water. As of late Tuesday night, police said roads were closed in the area near Old Oaks Estates on the east side of Elgin Willard Avenue due to flooding. Those streets included David Drive Suzanne Drive, Jan Marie Drive, Sadler Avenue and Anderson Avenue.
The water was waist deep in some areas, moving quickly and extremely cold, according to an Elgin Police Department Facebook post.
Authorities are reminding residents not to try to drive through standing water. Those in the area who may need assistance can call 911 or 847-289-2700 for help.
