NFL's 1st Female Coach Bringing Girls Football Camp To Elgin

Jen Welter, the first female coach in the NFL, is bringing her girls flag football camp to Elgin next month.

ELGIN, IL — The NFL's first female coach is headed to Elgin next month to empower young girls to get involved in football. Dr. Jen Welter coached linebackers for the Arizona Cardinals during their 2015 training camp and preseason, and according to her website, she'll share her expertise during her Grrridiron Girls Flag Football Camp tour to Westminster Christian School in Elgin on June 9.

Welter's camp is for girls ages 6 to 18 with registration at 1 p.m., followed by camp, which will run 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event website says registration is $40 and includes drills, one-on-one coaching by Welter and NFL Alumni (announced soon), Grrridiron Girls Camp T-Shirt and a meet & greet with NFL Alumni and special guests.
