'In Pursuit' To Feature Missing South Elgin Girl Tonight

John Walsh will tell the story of Kayla Unbehaun, who went missing in 2017, on Investigation Discovery.

SOUTH ELGIN, IL - The case of a South Elgin girl who is believed to have been abducted by her mother a year-and-a-half ago will be featured on the national television series "In Pursuit With John Walsh" when the next episode airs at 9 p.m. Central time Wednesday, according to a Daily Herald report. The case of Kayla Unbehaun, now 11 years old, and her mother, Heather Unbehaun, has gone unsolved since the 4th of July 2017.

The child and her mother were reportedly last seen at a 4th of July parade in Wheaton. Kayla's father, Ryan Iskerka of South Elgin, was granted full custody of her just months before she went missing. He reported his daughter missing after Heather failed to drop Kayla off with him as scheduled on July 5, 2017.

Heather Unbehaun, 36, has been wanted on a felony warrant for kidnapping after relatives told police the two went on a camping trip to Wisconsin and never returned. A South Elgin police spokesman said the two could be in Athens, Georgia.
