Who had the most rain from this past week's wet weather? The National Weather Service released rainfall totals on Thursday.

The Chicago area got hit hard by heavy rainfall this past week. The National Weather Service has released the 24-hour rainfall totals recorded by trained observers following Wednesday's storms. The rainfall totals were taken Thursday morning and typically are recorded between 6 to 8 a.m.

Wednesday's periods of heavy rain over northern Illinois and northwest Indiana wast mostly driven by the remnants of Subtropical Storm Alberto. The "whirl" or twist of Alberto is clearly evident on the radar below and this is what brought flooding to parts of the area.
