Several Cats, Dogs Saved From House Fire: Fire Officials
The blaze broke out at a home in the 1000 block of Polly Court in Elgin Sunday morning.
ELGIN, IL — More than a dozen cats and dogs were rescued from a house fire in Elgin Sunday morning. The blaze broke out at the home in the 1000 block of Polly Court at 8:31 a.m., and when firefighters arrived at the scene, there was smoke and coming from the house, according to a news release from the Elgin Fire Department.
The homeowner told fire officials all residents were safely out of the home, but there were still several cats and dogs inside.
The blaze was put out within 15 minutes, and fire crews were able to safely get more than a dozen pets out of the home, according to the news release. No one was injured, and the blaze remains under investigation.
