Third Man Charged In Street Racing Death Arrested
The Carpentersville man was arrested last week. He faces felony charges in connection with the crash that killed two Judson students.
KANE COUNTY, IL — A third man accused in a street racing case, which led to a crash that killed two Judson University students, has been arrested.
Kaheel Malik Steele, of the 1 to 99 block of Austin Avenue in Carpentersville, was taken into custody last week and currently is being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center on a $250,000 bail. He was arrested "without incident" after turning himself in, according to a Facebook post from the Elgin Police Department.

Steele is one of two men charged with felony aggravated street racing, reckless homicide and speeding more than 35 mph over the speed limit in connection with the April 20 crash in Elgin that killed Nathanael Madison, a senior from Wenersville, Pennsylvania, and Dallas Colburn, a senior from Plano.
Trevon Morris is also charged in the case. In addition to the street racing and reckless homicide charges, he faces aggravated DUI causing death and aggravated DUI with no license charges.

As of Friday morning, Morris remains behind bars on a $100,000 bail. A third man, Manny L. Pittenturf, 23, of the 300 block of Tee Lane in Carpentersville, is charged with aggravated speeding and driving without a license in the chain-reaction crash that happened at about 9:15 p.m. April 20 near the Judson University campus.
The crash occurred when the the vehicle occupied by Madison and Colburn was hit by three vehicles heading north on Route 31 at Judson Drive. The students' vehicle was headed south on Route 31, about to turn on Judson Drive, when the collision occurred, police said.
Madison and Colburn were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other Judson seniors in the car were injured and taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. All of the students were studying in Judson's architecture program.
Morris is next expected in court on June 25 at 9 a.m. for a status hearing. Meanwhile, a June 11 pretrial has been set for Steele.
