What constitutes too much screen time for your teens and tweens?
Elgin Academy Hosts Early Childhood Preview Events

When was the last time you saw your child's face free from the glow of a smart phone, tablet or computer screen? Elgin Academy and Advocate Sherman Hospital will host a free screening of the documentary, Screenagers on Thursday, February 28 from 7 to 9 pm in the Seigle Auditorium at Elgin Community College. Parents of teens and tweens who are struggling with just how much screen time is healthy for their child can view this documentary which details personal accounts of other families' struggle with the impact of screens in their children's lives and hear expert advice on managing this new, digital intrusion.
Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age is the first documentary to explore the impact of screen technology on kids and offer parents and families proven solutions that work. What started out as a personal story for one has grown into a national movement, helping millions of teens and their families navigate growing up in a world with instant access to screens.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion and question and answer session featuring Elgin Academy's Director of Personalized Learning, Anne-Elise Parker, and Dr. Thomas Dovido, a pediatrician at Advocate Sherman Hospital. Teachers and parents of teens and tweens will learn multiple approaches on how they can work with kids to help them achieve a healthy amount of screen time.
