11 Cited For Marijuana Use In 3-Day Span: Elmhurst Police
Officers were busy between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19.
Mid-February has seen a lot of drug arrests in Elmhurst, and local officers caught 11 people with marijuana between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19 during traffic stops and routine roadside safety checks. In one instance, a child was in the backseat. In another, it was a child who was cited.
Check out all of the instances below:
- Clarence Ford, 27, was stopped at 956 N. York the evening of Feb. 17 for an equipment violation and ultimately charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and having marijuana with them in the car. Ford was also cited for only having one working headlight.
- Thomas Kazmierczak, 23, and Christopher Kazmierczak, 22, were stopped by police Feb. 18 at a Lake and Walnut roadside safety checkpoint and investigated when police smelled a “strong odor” of marijuana in their car. Cops searched the car and found two bottles of a green leafy suspect and drug paraphernalia. Thomas was cited for possession of drugs and paraphernalia; Christopher was cited with compliance and possession of cannabis.
- Josue Rodriguez, 22, was stopped at a roadside safety checkpoint and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police smelled marijuana in his car. Rodriguez admitted to having a “vape pipe” that he uses to smoke marijuana with, and he was cited and released on the scene.
- Quennel Jackson, 33, was stopped at the same checkpoint Feb. 18 and found to be in possession of a cannabis smoking pipe. Police also said two children were in the backseat, unbuckled. Jonathan Maldonato, 32, who was sitting in the front seat of Jackson’s car, had an open bottle of alcohol with him. Maldonato was charged with carrying open liquor and Jackson was charged with having the pipe and failure to secure children while driving.
- Syed Ahmad, 23, was found to be in possession of marijuana after being stopped at the checkpoint Feb. 18.
- Lerma Gonzalez, 20, was found to be in possession of marijuana at the checkpoint.
- Joseph Clemente, 23, was stopped for a roadside safety check at Grand and Church Feb. 19 and was found to be in possession of marijuana, a grinder and a pipe. He was cited for all three.
- Michael Rinaldi, 26, was cited for having marijuana and two smoking pipes in his car after being stopped at the Grand and Church checkpoint Feb. 19.
- Three people, all under 18, were stopped at the Grand and Church checkpoint and cited for violating curfew. One of them was also charged with having marijuana in the car.
