12 Elmhurst Businesses Nominated By Readers As City's Best

ELMHURST, IL — It's been a tough year for many businesses in Elmhurst, especially restaurants, which have been subject to the governor's shutdown orders.

Despite the challenges, the businesses have found new ways to offer their services.

For the last few weeks, Elmhurst Patch asked its readers to nominate Local Businesses of the Year.

Here is a list of businesses nominated, some of which received more than one recommendation:

• Brewpoint Coffee: "They’ve adapted so well to servicing the community during the pandemic with their walk up window and app ordering and take home gallon lattes!"
• Chick-fil-A: "Despite COVID, the drive through at Chick-fil-A has remained open. The workers are always friendly, the food is consistently good, and safety procedures (food passed through the drive through window in a tray, workers wearing gloves and masks, etc.) are always maintained."
• Courageous Bakery & Cafe: "The excellent product, the cause, the courtesy, the connection to our community."
• Evolution Dance Experience: "Evolution Dance Experience embodies the qualities of a small business that any village would be proud to have. Our family learned about Evolution through a Girl Scout event, where the owner Ms. Erica spoke with the girls about the importance of community, philanthropy, and being a small business owner... Now, three years later, Evolution has consistently provided a positive experience for both of our children. This has been even more important during COVID, as the instructors have brilliantly adapted their lessons to provide a safe environment for good health, exercise, and continued safe social interaction."
• Kie & Kate Couture: "Kati is a great community member and businesswoman. She gives back, offers excellent products and an excellent price point. She works hard and has adapted to the every changing climate of retail. We are lucky to have this business in town." Another comment: "Customer service continues to be superior during Covid. They started a website, supported other local businesses and schools, delivered purchases, had a curbside pick up and my favorite was a Friday Feel Good promotion to send items to friends and family all over the country. They were hard-working and extremely creative. My whole family lives to shop there, supporting a local family with a great heart!"
• Mangia Napoli Pizzeria: "Simply put. High quality, low price, and seamless execution. Overall the best restaurant in Elmhurst."
• My Car Wash: "The owner is so kind and accommodating when I go for a car wash. He is always so appreciative of my business and takes great pride in Elmhurst."
• Pilot Pete's Coffee & Treats: "Pilot Pete’s has the best coffee in Elmhurst bar none, and you can’t beat the customer service. During the pandemic Pete had to quickly pivot from serving commuters which are now non-existent, and he’s done an amazing job. I keep going back to see his smiling face and for the delicious lattes. I also can’t forget to mention how much Pete does for our community. He is a true inspiration!"
• Rainbow Cafe: "The Rainbow is like home away from home. A warm inviting atmosphere, where first time and regular customers are treat with friendly, caring service. The food is delicious and plentiful. The owner and his staff are very welcoming and attentive."
• Silverado Grill: "Silverado has gone above and beyond to make it so we could still get their great food. We've taken out food from them a number of times, and it is always wonderful."
• Tannins Wine Bar & Boutique: "Charming wine bar and store. Have gone above and beyond to continue serving the community throughout the pandemic by offering outdoor dining, wine delivery, virtual wine tastings and special holiday libations and mixes! Very friendly staff, as well."
• Uptown Shop: "Wonderful customer service."
