3 Incidents Involving Charges At Same Elmhurst House: Cops

In one incident, a man called officers obscene names and waved his finger at female cop, report says.

ELMHURST, IL — A house on Elmhurst's Hillcrest Avenue has been the site of three arrests since 2018 — and other calls that did not result in charges.

Last weekend, Elmhurst police issued a "chronic nuisance" warning to the owner of 939 S. Hillcrest Ave.

In response to a public records request, the city provided the last three arrest reports involving incidents at the house. The reports included accusations of unfaithfulness, broken beer bottles and a thrown religious candle.

Early the morning of Sept. 3, 2018, police were called about Anthony M. Pulido, now 41, pulling a woman's hair and pushing her head into the ground, according to a report. An intoxicated Pulido denied getting physical, but said the woman had been unfaithful, police said.

The woman said Anthony Pulido was interrupting her as she was putting children to bed and ripped her phone from her hand, the report said.

Pulido had been to the emergency room earlier that night, where he had been treated for injuries to both hands because of an earlier, unspecified event, police said.

He was charged with three counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with a 911 call for domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Late the night of May 18, police were called to the same address for a report that Joseph A. Pulido, 47, threw a religious candle that hit a 12-year-old girl.

An argument involving Joseph Pulido was taking place when he threw a candle from the basement, hitting the girl, police said. When police arrived, he was on his bed in the basement, according to a police report. He denied throwing the candle at the girl.

When asked why the rest of his family said he threw the candle, Pulido responded that they were against him and did not want him to live there, police said.

He was charged with domestic battery and taken to jail.

On the afternoon of June 8, police responded to a report that Anthony Pulido broke beer bottles and threw some glass at Joseph Pulido.

When police arrived, they asked to speak to Joseph Pulido. But he refused to leave the basement and police did not feel it was safe to go down there given the history of domestic violence in the house, according to a police report. Because Joseph Pulido, the victim, declined to cooperate, officers left, police said.

A short while later, Joseph Pulido called police and agreed to come outside.

After leaving the basement, Joseph Pulido was upset that the police would not go down there. According to the report, he waved his finger and swore at the officers, called them "f------" and "p---- whipped," labeled a female officer a "b----," and responded with "f--- you" when officers tried to stay on topic.

At one point, he waved his finger at the female officer, police said. Another officer got in the way and told Joseph Pulido to put his finger down.

Joseph Pulido said his brother, Anthony Pulido, broke a 12-back of empty Corona beer bottles on the floor of his basement and threw some glass at Joseph Pulido, the report said.

Anthony Pulido admitted breaking the beer bottles, but denied throwing any glass. He was cited on charges of damage to property and assault.
