5 Star Performance By Park District Guards In Elmhurst Park District

The lifeguard staff at East End and Smalley Pools received five stars on their first of three unannounced audits from Starguard Elite during the week of June 21, 2021.

The pools are evaluated on unannounced lifeguard and supervisor observations, skill scenarios, documentation and facility inspections.

Five Stars is the highest score an agency can receive, highlighting the training and hard work Aquatics staff has done to prepare for the summer season.

"While we are very proud, we are not surprised that our lifeguard staff received five stars on their first audit of the summer last week. Safety is the most important part of every summer at the Elmhurst Park District pools and that starts with the lifeguards and their training," says Sarah Lagesse, Division Manager of Aquatics.

The pool season is just hitting its stride and, as the community returns to the pools, the Aquatics staff is focused on making this season a safe and memorable one.

Adds Lagesse, "All of our pool staff take safety and training very seriously. The 5 Star Audit Award is just one example of this.”
