Accused Predator Threatened Villa Park Girl with Assault Recordings: Sheriff

A man from unincorporated Melrose Park is charged with sexual assault and child pornography.

Cook County, IL — A man from unincorporated Melrose Park is accused of sexually assaulting a Villa Park girl and recording the assaults over the course of three years.

Rodolfo Salazar, 39 of the 10300 block of W. Medill Avenue in unincorporated Melrose Park, was charged June 28 with predatory criminal sexual assault and child pornography, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

A report reached sheriff's police around 1:20 a.m. June 27, saying a 14-year-old girl from Villa Park had been sexually assaulted multiple times over three years.

During the investigation, detectives learned Salazar taped the assaults and threatened to release the recordings if the victim told anyone about the assaults, the sheriff's office reports. The recordings were found during the investigation.

Salazar's bond was set at $250,000 June 29 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
