Addison Resident Wins $300,000 Lottery Prize

He plans to invest the windfall.

ADDISON, IL — Mario Laureta of Addison is $300,000 richer after winning a Lucky Day Lotto Jackpot prize.

Laureta's ticket matched all five numbers – 17 - 33 - 38 - 39 – 41 — in the July 12 evening drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery.

“I couldn’t believe it when all of the numbers matched my ticket!" Laureta said. "I told my kids and we were so excited, none of us slept that night.”

The Addison man and his wife have four children and two grandchildren, and they plan to invest the windfall.

The winning ticket was bought at Caputo’s Fresh Market, 510 West Lake St. in Addison. The retailer received a $3,000 bonus, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.

More than 11,000 players won prizes ranging from $1 to $200 in the July 12 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery. Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week.
