Business Battery, DUIs: Elmhurst Cops
Man touches a female at a business on Lake Street, police say.
ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police made a number of arrests on a variety of charges. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Business battery
- Bonifacio Castro, 40, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 3 p.m. Sunday at a business at 325 W. Lake St. on a charge of battery. He was released on bond. According to a police report, Castro approached a female and her cousin and touched her arm. The video was reviewed, and the suspect was identified.
Drug possession

- David Cusic, 65, of Westchester, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of East Butterfield on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and DUI (drugs). He was found to be in possession of two baggies of heroin. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Warrants
- Kevin Teichen 40, of Elmhurst, was arrested about noon Thursday on a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office warrant. He turned himself in. He was released on bond.
- Anthony Thomas, 27, of Chicago, was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles and Route 83 on a warrant. He was released on bond.
DUIs

- Amanda Miller, 25, of Aurora, was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles and York on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, operating at uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic control signal and operating a motor vehicle with unsafe equipment. She was released on bond.
- Coraima Calederon, 27, of Wood Dale, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic signal and no valid driver’s license. She was released on bond.
- Julio Ortiz, 19, of Addison, was arrested about 5 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North West on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license and violating minimum speed regulations. He was released on bond.
- Alekh Meka, 25, of Naperville, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Second and Addison on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.
Driving violations
- Shante Reeves, 25, of Melrose Park, was cited about 3 p.m. Friday at North and Illinois on charges of failure to provide information after a crash and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on bond. According to a police report, Reeves left the site of the crash after getting into a heated argument.
- Christina Fernandez, 25, of Berwyn, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North York on charges of no valid driver’s license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond.
- Marco Velasquez, 23, of Woodstock, was cited about 11 p.m. Friday at Villa and North on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.
- Lemarius Cocroft, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 11 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Road and Route 83 on charges of no driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and improper display of registration. He was released on bond.
