Golfers who participated in The Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI) association’s annual golf tournament saw some differences during this unusual year, but still successfully raised more than $6,000 for Child’s Voice, a listening and spoken language program for children with hearing loss. During their seven-year relationship, MBBI has raised more than $54,000 for Child’s Voice.

While players wore masks and networked with a bit more distance between them, and the outing itself was moved from July to September, the golfers who gathered at Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI, were unchanged in their desire to help Child’s Voice students experience success.

“MBBI has been collaborating with Child’s Voice for seven years and it has been a wonderful partnership. The work they do with children with hearing loss is nothing short of amazing and we are proud to help support them each and every year,” said Brennan Hollenbeck, chairman of MBBI’s golf outing.

MBBI is a network of industry leaders from banking, legal, accounting, wealth management, and more, who connect and collaborate on the buying, funding, and selling of small and medium-sized businesses in the Midwest. The group has chapters in Illinois and Wisconsin.

“We are incredibly grateful to the MBBI Golf supporters, Committee and Leadership,” said Kate Bousum, Director of Advancement for Child’s Voice. “This group of professionals have been ongoing collaborators on adapting this event to meet the Association’s needs, keep everyone safe in this unusual year, plan for a great time on the course, and prioritize raising funds to help change the lives of the students at Child’s Voice. We look forward to future events with them!”

Child’s Voice, based in Wood Dale and the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. The Child’s Voice program serves nearly 400 children and their families each year.
