Coming Soon: Bar and Eatery With More Than 500 Beers, Communal Seating

Elmhurst will gain a new restaurant and bar by the end of the year.

A bar and restaurant offering more than 500 different beers will soon call Elmhurst home.

Local officials announced Tuesday that Beerhead Bar & Eatery has selected the city as the ideal spot for its next location. It's set to open later this year at 100 N. York St.

Branded as "The Beer Market," the company's first location opened in May 2010 in Vernon Hills. Elmhurst will mark the business's seventh site.

"The concept offers approximately 500 brands of beer at any given time, live music, and 'community' seating, all wrapped within a warm, entertaining environment," Elmhurst officials said, in a news alert. "Since the opening of the Vernon Hills store, the Beerhead team has sought to expand their presence in other markets with a keen eye on creating a local environment closely tied to the surrounding communities, breweries, distilleries and markets."

The restaurant's menu offers a variety of food to complement its expansive selection of beer, wines and specialty cocktails.
