Could This Be the Man Behind the Slew of Recent Car Burglaries in Elmhurst? Cops Think So
Car burglaries have been on the rise since the fall.

A young man who was allegedly involved in a series of car burglaries and thefts during the past three months was arrested and charged by Elmhurst police Jan. 24, the department announced in a release.
Darius Anthony, 23, of Berkeley was charged last week with eight counts of burglary following an intensive investigation of a string of such incidents in Elmhurst throughout the past three months. Anthony is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Police were alerted to Anthony’s presence in the city when they responded to a call of a man inside a resident’s garage in the 800 block of South Linden Avenue on Jan. 12, according to the release. The man fled from the scene and wasn’t caught. Police soon received several other reports of burglaries to unlocked cars in the area that had taken place prior to the garage incident.
