Counterfeit Bills Used at Elmhurst Businesses: Police
Elmhurst police have contacted the U.S. Secret Service.

ELMHURST, IL — Police believe the same man used counterfeit $20 bills at two different businesses in Elmhurst.
The man entered a restaurant in the 600 block of W North Avenue around 1 p.m. Aug. 10, and he bought water valued at $1.79 with a $20 bill, according to Elmhurst police.
The manager noticed the counterfeit bill in the cash drawer, but the man had already left the area.

An officer spoke with the shift manager at a nearby business, who confirmed the same man had been in the store around 12:38 p.m. He bought a cookie for $1.95 with a $20 bill. The shift manager found the bill in the cash drawer.
The Elmhurst officer took the bill and contacted the U.S. Secret Service.
