D-205 Proceeding With School's Demolition
Building is deemed "unsuitable" and "inconvenient," resolution says.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst school board on Tuesday is poised to make the demolition of Lincoln Elementary School official.
At its meeting, the board is expected to vote on a resolution to tear down the school, 565 Fairfield Ave. The resolution called the building "unsuitable, inconvenient and/or unnecessary." The district plans to replace it.
On April 28, the district informed the state's asbestos program of its plan to demolish the structure after the school year ends June 4. It did not give a specific date to begin the project, but has said before that the demolition should last about a month.
