District 205 to hold welcome reception for new superintendent

Public gets change to meet award winning administrator David Moyer July 21

People who want to meet new Elmhurst Unit School District 205 Superintendent David Moyer will get their chance at a reception before the next board meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 21 in the York Community High School Commons, according to a news release from the District.

Moyer was hired June 3 after three years of running Moline-Coal Valley District 40 in western Illinois where he was recognized as one of 21 superintendents of distinction in Illinois in Springfield in April.

While in Moline, Moyer led an effort to close a $3.8 million budget shortfall, doubled the number of advanced placement classes and completed a program before he left for Elmhurst giving all students from fifth grade through high school an electronic device to use in their education.
