District 205's 'Unequivocal' Plan For Fall
Elmhurst schools are spreading the word about the plan for in-person and remote learning.

ELMHURST, IL — This fall, Elmhurst School District 205's schedule for classes and activities should look like it was before March 2020 — in other words, normal, an official says.
The district, which returned to full in-person education earlier this month, wants to get the word out about its plan.
"We are ready to send out a letter to every family just unequivocally stating that next year will be all day every day for all students in all schools," interim Superintendent Linda Yonke told the school board Tuesday. "I thought people would assume that, but I'm hearing from the principals that maybe not."

She said the district would hold a remote program for a "very small" number of students in medically necessary cases.
The letter is expected to go out this week.

School board member Jim Collins agreed that it was important to spread a clear message to families.
Board President Kara Caforio said that if anything changes with health guidelines, the district could immediately adjust.
"What we're hearing is people want to know what it's going to look like in the fall. Will there be masks? That's not our decision," she said.
Yonke is the interim superintendent through June 30. Then Keisha Campbell takes the job permanently.
