DuPage County Woman Dies After She Was Pulled From Chicago River

The woman was seen in the river Friday night. She died Saturday morning.

CHICAGO, IL — A 24-year-old DuPage County woman died Saturday after being pulled from the Chicago River on Friday night.

Dominique Flewellen, of the 900 block of Oak Creek Drive in Lombard, was seen in the river at 350 W. Van Buren St. around 6 p.m., pulled out by the Chicago Police marine unit, and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Witnesses told police they saw her jump into the river, reports ABC Chicago.

Flewellen was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills and grew up in south suburban Hazel Crest.
