Elmhurst Bartender Violates Liquor Law By Serving Drunk Driver: Cops
The man was issued a DUI later that night.
One local bartender violated a federal liquor law when they continued to serve drinks to an intoxicated man who later would be driving home, Elmhurst police reported.
The unnamed man was reportedly drinking at Mack's Golden Pheasant on West North Avenue around 1 a.m. Feb. 18 and was continuously ordering alcohol from the bartender. The server continued to pour drinks for the man, "although he showed obvious signs of intoxication," police said.
Later that night, the man was stopped by police for drunk driving and issued a DUI.
