Elmhurst Council Green Lights $5 Million for Stormwater, Flooding, Sewer Fixes

Several projects are included in the city's allocated spending.

The Elmhurst City Council gave the gave the go-ahead this week to more than $5 million in flood control and stormwater projects.

Improvements will include those to mitigate stormwater and sanitary sewer issues, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

"Major construction projects approved included $2.6 million for construction work on the west side of Golden Meadows Park to relieve flooding on Pine Street and Avon Road, and $2.3 million for construction work south of the Madison Early Childhood Education Center to relieve flooding for areas north of the school," the story says.
