Elmhurst Hospital Sees Lowest Virus Caseload In 9 Months
The pace of coronavirus deaths at the hospital slowed considerably.

ELMHURST – Elmhurst Hospital’s coronavirus patient count has dropped to its lowest point since early September.
This is happening as Elmhurst and nearby towns are seeing weekly coronavirus case increases of less than 1 percent.
As of Monday, the hospital reported having five coronavirus patients. On Sept. 2, the caseload dropped to as low as one.

After mid-September, the number at Elmhurst Hospital started to rise. The hospital’s largest coronavirus caseload was on Nov. 17, with 84 patients. That was during the second surge of the virus.
The hospital has recorded 187 deaths of patients with confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The pace of deaths has slowed considerably, with 10 since the beginning of May.

As of Sunday, 1,832 patients have been discharged from the hospital after treatment for the coronavirus.
