Elmhurst Nationally Ranked as One of the Safest U.S. Cities to Live in This Year

The Illinois city came in at number 82 out of 100 of the safest places in the country.

According to recent numbers calculated by NeighborhoodScout.com in its annual “Safest/Most Dangerous Cities” roundup, Elmhurst is one of the best American cities to live in this year.

NeighborhoodScout compiles its list of the 100 safest and most dangerous cities of the year through analysis of FBI crime data and population, it states on its website. Cities that qualified for analysis had 25,000 or more people, and NeighborhoodScout looked into crimes like rape, murder, burglary, theft, car theft, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

While 19 Illinois cities scored spots on the “safest” list, Elmhurst came in at number 82. Five places in Illinois, though, were ranked as the “most dangerous,” including the number one dangerous city in the country, East St. Louis.
