Elmhurst Parks District to Host Safe Driving Course for Seniors

The class will take place from March 7-8.

The Elmhurst Parks District is hosting a tune-up driving course for seniors this March, representatives announced in a release.

The "AARP Smart Driver Course" will take place at the Abbey, a local senior citizens center located at 407 St. Charles Rd. in Elmhurst. The eight-hour refresher will stretch over two days, from Tuesday, March 7 to Wednesday, March 8. Both sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and attendees have to be present for all of both sessions to complete the course.

If you're a senior over the age of 55 with a clean driving record, it may be possible to get an insurance discount upon completion of the program, the parks release states. The fee for the class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Pre-registration is required (register here), and students will be expected to bring their checks to the first day of class.
