Elmhurst Rugby Introduces Two New Programs

The club finished second in their division last season, and is now expanding to introduce rugby to more kids.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Rugby Football Club has announced the addition of Rookie and Access programs starting this October. The club finished second in their division last season, and is now expanding to introduce rugby to more kids.

The club said it is partnered with Olympia Chiropractic and Physical Therapy, and is dedicated to safety and overall improvement of fitness and health. Elmhurst Rugby fills their high-school squad with students from York, ICCP, Timothy Christian and surrounding communities.

The new Rookie and Access programs are non-contact. The Rookie program is for kids K-4 and focuses on learning the fundamentals of the sport. This version is also available to both boys and girls.

The club said Access Rugby is an adapted rugby program specifically designed for athletes with disabilities, including boys and girls ages 5-23. It involves skill-based rugby games and drills mixed with occupational therapy related activities.
