When it's as hot as it has been around town, a little brain freeze is probably welcome.
At Elmhurst's Brain Freeze Ice Cream Shop customers are stopping in to try and keep cool, said owner Kristen Hoel Thursday.
"Our Italian ice is really popular because it is really refreshing," she said.
The shop offers six flavors of Italian ice.
Brain Freeze is open all year round, but not surprisingly the heat really brings people in, Hoel said.
For kids, a favorite is the shop's Monster Cookie Crunch, which is a blue and brown swirl. This editor can attest to its flavor. Kids probably don't mind the blue teeth resulting from the ice cream.
