A New Pizza Option In Elmhurst

Pizza place opens in town, honoring a province in Italy.

ELMHURST, IL — A new pizza place opened last week in Elmhurst, offering traditional thin crust pizza, Detroit-style pizza and sandwiches, among other items.

Lariano's Pizzeria & Italian Beef opened its doors at 426 N. York St.

"The municipality of Lariano, a province of Rome, is known for its craftsmanship. I bring that same craftsmanship to my restaurant," owner Larry Acton said on the restaurant's website. "My passion for food and enjoyment of family, friends, community and building new relationships has kept me in the food service industry."

According to his LinkedIn page, Acton has been involved in the creation of 50 different restaurant and brand development concepts. This has included name and logo creation, architectural planning, lease negotiation and team development.

Acton is also the managing partner of Nick's Pizza & Pub, his LinkedIn page says. This company has Nick's locations in Elgin and Crystal Lake.
