Police Release Sketch of Dress Barn Robber
Elmhurst police are trying to find a man who robbed the store registers July 15.
Elmhurst, IL — The Elmhurst Police Detective Unit has released a composite sketch depicting a man who implied he had a weapon and robbed Dress Barn in Elmhurst on July 15.
The image is based on descriptions given by store employees, according to Elmhurst police.
The aggravated robbery took place around 8:30 p.m. Friday at 167 S. Route 83 in Elmhurst. The man entered the store around 8:25 p.m. and told employees he was shopping for a dress for his wife. There were other customers inside the store at that time, and the man left and returned later when there were no other customers present.

The man announced a robbery and implied he had a weapon, police reported, and he made the store's employees go into a bathroom after they'd opened cash registers. The man ran from the store in a northern direction.
The robber is described as a black man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds with a large build, short black hair and a clean shaven face. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, green pants and a black, gray and red baseball cap.
