Rescue Dog Escapes Overnight Foster Home, Last Seen Near I-355
Shelby, a female beagle-shepherd mix, escaped her overnight foster in Addison during rescue transport and was last seen near I-355.

ADDISON, IL — Kentucky Mutts Animal Rescue Transport, which relays dogs from kill shelters in the south to forever homes in Minnesota and other locations, is searching for one of its dogs that got out of the yard of an overnight foster home.
Shelby is a female beagle-German shepherd mix and weights about 21 pounds. She scaled a 5-foot fence in her overnight foster volunteer’s back yard around 5:45 p.m. Saturday near Belmont and Elizabeth streets in Addison.
There was a sighting Saturday evening near Army Trail Road. On Sunday afternoon, Shelby was spotted around 3 p.m. near or on I-355 where a motorist reported a dog running loose about two miles from where Shelby got out in Addison.

KMAR volunteer Russ Roschman said that Illinois State Police confirmed receiving 911 calls about a dog running along the expressway.
Volunteers have been out searching for Shelby all day Sunday and distributing lost dog-fliers. Volunteers from Lost Dogs Illinois have also joined in the search for Shelby. A Facebook group, Operation: Find Shelby, has also been established.

“I spoke to the gentleman who called Illinois State Police who said he recognized Shelby from our flier,” Roschman said. “The dogs we relayed in Saturday’s transport were all, shall we say, animated.”
