LA GRANGE, IL — Plenty of La Grange residents were disappointed by the closure of Bakers Square in February, weeks before the pandemic began. Now, the vacant building at 942 S. La Grange Road is expected to be filled with a new restaurant.

On Wednesday, the Original Pancake House chain announced it would move into the building, but did not give a timeline for opening. Years ago, the chain had a location in La Grange Park.

The Original Pancake House is in 29 states, with 17 locations in Illinois, nearly all of them in Chicago and the suburbs. The closest to La Grange is about 14 miles away in Orland Park. Other nearby ones are in Oak Lawn and Schaumburg.
