Timothy Announces Illinois State Scholars

A group of seniors at Timothy Christian High School were named Illinois State Scholars for 2014 by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. 

They are: Jenny Baldwin, Joshua Bootsma, Logan Byrne, Brianne Cronenwett, Riley DeHaan, Wesley Ditchfield, Jack Hennel, Lukas Hooker, Jenna Lodewyk, Brooke McKenzie, Sean McNamara, Nathaniel Miller, Rachel Ravencroft, Samuel Sticha, Charis Valmores, Rebecca Voulgarakis and Annika Zeilstra.

The State Scholar program identifies graduating high school seniors with superior academic potential.  Students from nearly every high school in Illinois compete in the program.  The combination of exemplary college entrance examination scores and record high school achievement indicate an especially high potential for success in college.

ISAC administers scholarship and grant programs that provided more than 170,000 awards totaling more than $415 million in academic year 2012-13. The state's flagship grant program, MAP, continues to be a centerpiece in efforts to ensure financial considerations do not prevent Illinois students from going to college. The State Scholars Program is an honorary, not financial, award.
