3rd Of July Parade A Hit In Evergreen Park

Hundreds of families joined marchers in Evergreen Park's "3rd of July" tradition.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Hundreds of families from Evergreen Park and throughout the south suburbs gathered for the annual pre-4th of July celebration in the village on Monday. Evergreen Park celebrated the United States of America's 241st birthday with its 49th annual edition of the "3rd of July" Parade.

Families, political groups and unofficial marchers joined bagpipers, entertainers and local marching bands in the parade that stepped off at 95th and Pulaski and provided fun for thousands along the curbs of 95th Street and Richmond Avenue.

"I thought it was awesome," said first-time Evergreen Park parade-goer Yolanda Brown. "For the kids it was an early Halloween with all the candy and I got to take a photo with the mayor. The Jesse White Tumblers are always awesome as well."
