Celebrate Summer At Evergreen Park's 'Day In The Park'

Evergreen Park's annual block party features fun for the kids, a beer and wine garden, food music and more this Saturday, June 30.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Evergreen Park’s biggest block party of the year gets underway rain or shine this Saturday, June 30. "A Day In The Park" will be held at a new location in Yukich Field from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The neighborhood celebration features music, entertainment, children’s activities, a wine and beer garden, and food from the village’s most popular restaurants. Please also note that there will be no 5K this year.

Tentative food vendors include Barraco’s Restaurant (pizza, smoothies), Christensen’s Popcorn Wagon (lemonade, popcorn, snow cones), LaCochia Jalisciense (Mexican dishes), Porter Cullens (sliders, specialty drinks), Red Palm Restaurant (guacamole chips, wings, speciality drinks) and Sesame Inn (Chinese dishes). The Evergreen Park Fire Department will also be grilling corn and Polish sausage, with chips, hot dogs, soda and candy sold by the Evergreen Park Youth Department. No coolers will be allowed in the park or within the confines of the park.

Day In The Park caps off with performances by popular local bands by Motel Breakfast and The Stingers. Yukich Fields is located at 8900 S. Kedzie Ave., Evergreen Park. Admission is free.

Schedule of Events, Saturday, June 30:

11:30 a.m.- 9 p.m. - Food vendors and beer/wine garden, featuring specialty beers.
11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Fire and police vehicles on display.
Noon to 4 p.m. - Family craft
Noon to dusk -- arts and crafts show
Noon to 8:45 p.m. - Music and entertainment
1 p.m. - Parkette dancers and recreation department dancers and color guard
1 to 4 p.m. - Evergreen Park Field Department jump house
1 to 4 p.m. - Pony ride and petting zoo
1 to 5 p.m. - Rock climbing wall, face painting
4 to 6 p.m. - live music with Motel Breakfast
6:30 to 8:45 p.m. - live music by The Stingers
