EPCHS Mathletes Take Home 2nd Place and More at Regionals
Our Mathletes persevered and we are very proud of them.
Congratulations to the EPCHS Mathletes! Overall, they took home a 2nd Place finish in the virtual Regional Contest.
In the Team events: The Geometry Team of Helen Joyce, David Ortiz, and Nicole Reynolds took 1st Place; the Calculator Team of Thomas Jarosz-Gobby, Helen Joyce, Madelyn Schaffrath, John Bledsoe, and Grace Beyer took 1st Place; the Algebra 2 Team of John Bledsoe, Lexi Elwood, Zach Meyer, Cristina Ocampo, Madelyn Schaffrath, and Matt Summers took 2nd Place; and the Precalculus Team of Grace Beyer, Hope Michalek, and Maddie Reynolds took 2nd Place.
The Freshman/Sophomore 8-Person Team of Thomas Jarosz-Gobby, Colleen McCarthy, Rachel Thomas, Helen Joyce, and David Ortiz took 2nd Place. The Junior/Senior 8-Person Team of Grace Beyer, John Bledsoe, Thomas Gricus, Zach Meyer, Maddie Reynolds, Nicole Reynolds, Madelyn Schaffrath, and Matt Summers took 2nd Place.

Individually: Senior Grace Beyer placed 2nd in Precalculus, Junior John Bledsoe placed 3rd in Algebra 2, and Sophomore David Ortiz placed 3rd in Geometry.
"This year was very different for us as all of the contests were held virtually and our State Finals were not held," said Mathletes Sponsor Maria Vinci. "Our Mathletes persevered and we are very proud of them."
