EPCHS National Honor Society Inducts 46 New Members

Evergreen Park Community High School recently recognized the accomplishments of the senior members and inducted 46 new members (43 juniors and 3 seniors) into the school’s National Honor Society (NHS). This was the largest class of new members in recent memory.

The senior members were: Andrea Beltran, Macy Benson, Grace Beyer, Jack Bresnahan, Tiana Brown, Nolan Bruce, Heidi Burke, Christian Carvajal, Keegan Cassidy, Mya Cooper, Tatum Dancy, Kylie Doherty, Ailyn Esquivel, Daniel Farritor, Josh Gordon, Taylor Hoefler, Michael Klier, Malaysia Lambert, Victor Leal-Painter, Citlalli Marquez, Hope Michalek, Ernesto Mora, Juliet O’Connor, Nellie O’Grady, Hannah Ortell, Alyssa Purvis, Maddie Reynolds, Jake Rickert, Christian Rosso, Emily Ryan, Catherine Schulte, Emily Smith, Kiara Smith, Jessalyn Torres, Connor Tyrrell, and Lori Wilson.

The inductees were: Dane Bik, John Bledsoe, Tiana Brown, Nathaniel Chacon, Caroline Duffy, Jacob Dwyer, Alexis Elwood, Ryan Ewert, Mariana Ferreira, Julian Flannigan, Elaine Frederickson, Natalie Galindo, Thomas Gricus, Samarah Herrera, Soriya Holloway, Elizabeth Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Trinity Jones, Thomas Kerwin, April Kirtz, Tyler Kirtz, Victor Leal-Painter, Citlalli Marquez, Kelly McCarthy, Danny McQuillan, Zachary Meyer, Joshua Miglieri, Cassandra Mora, Shannon Morrison, Andrew Murphy, Grace Murphy, Samantha Nard, Denisa Nada, Angelina Obregon, Christina Ocampo, Cathleen Rech, Connor Rinearson, Kelly Scanlon, Madelyn Schaffrath, Zaria Simmons, Madison Sims, Matthew Summers, Leah Thomas, Annel Valencia-Soto, Megan Valentino, and Tristan Wagner.

Kelly Burke, Representative of the 36th District and Evergreen Park Mayor Elect, delivered the keynote address. She congratulated the inductees and spoke to the qualities of today’s students. She then congratulated the senior NHS members on their achievements of the four National Honor Society tenets: Character, Scholarship Leadership, and Service through volunteerism and sacrifices.

NHS Advisor, Mr. Ben Nesler, recognized NHS Officers Hope Michalek (President), Josh Gordon (Vice-President), Grace Beyer (Secretary) and Keegan Cassidy (Treasurer), Ceremony Marshals Julian Flannigan and Thomas Gricus, Nellie O’Grady for delivering the Invocation, Victor Leal-Painter and Tiana Brown for leading the Pledge of Allegiance, and Hope Michalek for providing closing comments.
