Get Flakey At Evergreen Park's Family Flake Fest
Free winter fest features youth speed skating classic, ice sculpting, skating, EPCHS Snow Queen and Court this Saturday, Feb. 10.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Bundle up and start packing snowballs. It's time to get flaky at the 2018 Family Flake Fest this Saturday, Feb. 10, from to 6 p.m. The festival is FREE. All activities take place at Yukich Field, 91st Street and Kedzie Avenue, in Evergreen Park. So far it looks like Old Man Winter is sticking around, so come out and get some rosy cheeks cavorting in winter weather.
Sponsored by the Village of Evergreen Park, the Flake Fest offers a glorious afternoon of winter fun, including a youth speed skating classic, learn-to-skate and pre-hockey clinics, ice sculpting, ice skating, crafts, Mother Butter's Popcorn, hot cocoa and the Little Company of Mary Hospital education station.
Stick around for the introduction of the Evergreen Park Community High School Snow Queen and Court.
All activities are subject to the weather. Some activities will take place inside the Evergreen Park firehouse garage.

Here’s a tentative schedule of the day’s events scheduled for Feb. 10:
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. -- Artie Kerr’s Learn To Skate and Hockey Clinics
12:30 to 1:30 p.m. -- Youth Speed Skating Classic (helmet required, registration starts at noon)
1 to 3 p.m. -- Bake sale, cookie decorating, face painting, Flake Fest crafts, Home Depot crafts, Jim Long ice sculpting, Mother Butter’s popcorn, and Oberweis cocoa. (Some activities take place in the Evergreen Park firehouse.)
1 to 6 p.m. -- Free open skate
2 to 3 p.m. -- Little Company of Mary Hospital Education Station and presentation of the EPCHS Snow Queen and Court.
