Library Hosts Gigantic Book Sale All This Week

Need some new (to you) books, DVDs or CDs? The Evergreen Park Public Library invites you to its Annual Gigantic Book Sale from today, Aug. 5, to Saturday, Aug. 10.

"Discover a treasure trove of hardcover and paperback books, magazines, DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, audiobooks, and more for all ages at bargain prices," the library's summer newsletter says.

On Saturday, the sale will have buck-a-bag day to save on the last of what the library has left, but get a leg-up on your neighbors and get over to the sale today.

• Monday - Non-residents can sign up for Oak Lawn Park District fall trips. Program registration starts Aug. 19.
• Wednesday - Movie screening of Girl Rising at 7:30 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center
• Friday through Sunday - Oak Lawn Park District's West Side Story continues its run at the Oak Lawn Community Theatre, with shows Friday and Saturday night and a Sunday matinee
• Saturday - Evergreen Park native Katie Quick will be releasing her third album at an Album Release Party at 8 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center
• Sunday - Evan's World Benefit for Evan Sauerwein, a nine-year-old with Burkitt's lymphoma
• Sunday - Pretty in Pink Slip Gala at 6 p.m. in Mokena
