Lipinski Announces $121,000 FEMA Grant for Merrionette Park FD

"I'm grateful that FEMA is providing funding for this important equipment to protect Merrionette Park's firefighters," Rep. Lipinski said.

CHICAGO-- Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-03) announced this week that the Village of Merrionette Park Fire Department was awarded a $121,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The federal funding will finance the replacement of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and support additional face pieces, which will eliminate unsanitary face mask sharing and will ensure that every firefighter is properly fitted for their individual masks.

“SCBAs are life-saving tools and it is imperative that firefighters have the necessary safeguards in place to do their jobs,” Rep. Lipinski said. “I’m grateful that FEMA is providing funding for this important equipment to protect Merrionette Park’s firefighters. I thank them for their continued service to the community.”
