'March of the Pigs' Holiday Lights Delight In Evergreen Park
Evergreen Park woman holds unofficial Guinness World Record for most illuminated pigs in a holiday yard display.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Jennifer Obecunas grew up wanting to be the crazy neighbor with the best Christmas lights on the block. We think she’s accomplished that goal. If you’re looking for holiday light displays to visit this weekend, then check out her “March of the Pigs” at 2708 W. 90th Place in Evergreen Park.
Jennifer’s collection of yard decorations started out humbly after she inherited her father’s and grandfather’s molded plastic Christmas decorations, including what we think is a vintage Jolly Polk Santa from the legendary Polk Bros. discount appliance retailer in the 1960s. So what if he's in a coffin. The first year she set about composing her lawn after she bought her house 2003, she was going for a dolphin theme, but the dolphin she wanted was sold out.
“I was crestfallen,” she said, “and then I saw they had a pig. I bought it. Then I found another pig at a thrift store, and another. I had three pigs and thought ‘this can’t ever stop.' It just grew and grew.”

“They said they never heard of such a record and I would need 1,000 pigs to apply,” she said. "So I hold the unofficial record."
