Most Holy Redeemer Hosts 'Neighborhood Stations of The Cross'
Community members are invited to walk or drive Most Holy Redeemer's Stations of the Cross in Evergreen Park on Good Friday, April 2.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Most Holy Redeemer Parish in Evergreen Park will host “Neighborhood Stations of the Cross” to commemorate the Passion of Christ Jesus on Good Friday. Parishioners and community members are invited to walk or drive the Stations of the Cross from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, April 2.
In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic prevented worshipers from gathering for Good Friday services at Most Holy Redeemer, the Neighborhood Stations were created by parishioners to allow people to safely honor Christ’s sacrifice. The response from the community was overwhelming, with nearly 1,000 people taking part in the walk.
Stations begin near 96th Street and Millard Avenue and end at 96th Street and Lawndale Avenue. Fourteen homes within the parish boundaries will each display a white cross on their front lawns. Each cross will be adorned with purple bunting, an image and a short text description of the respective station.
