New Trauma Center Planned for Holy Cross Hospital

The University of Chicago and Sinai Helath System are planning to build an emergency trauma center at Holy Cross Hospital, according to a school press release.

The new center is part of the partnership’s effort to expand emergency services at the 68th Street and California Avenue facility, which is located close to much of the city’s gun violence.

“This new Level 1 adult trauma center is a true community and civic effort, and the City of Chicago looks forward to working with the key stakeholders to bring this to fruition,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel stated in the release.
