Patient Accused Of Exposing Himself To ER Nurse: Charges

According to prosecutors, King told the nurse to look at his genitals and said "I think I have a discharge."

EVERGREEN PARK — A convicted sex offender is accused of exposing himself to a nurse while seeking treatment in a hospital emergency room. Curley King. 39, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on two misdemeanor counts of public indecency.

Around 5:45 p.m. Sept. 24, King arrived at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park after claiming that he had injured his groin while riding his bike, the prosecutor said. King was assigned to an examination room in the ER and told to change into a hospital gown.

When a nurse arrived a few minutes later to examine him, the prosecutor said King had pulled up the gown and was pleasuring himself. According to the allegations, King told the nurse to look at his genitals and said "I think I have a discharge."

"Was he speaking medically," the judge asked.

"It sounds like he was trying to relieve pain in the groin area," the assistant public defender said. "The nurse walked in on him."

The prosecutor told the judge that King is currently registered as a sexual predator with the state of Illinois. King has past convictions for criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual assault by force. He also has a conviction for failure to report a change of address. His victim was 19 and King was 20 at the time of the incident. King's last known address is the 2800 block of South Loomis Street in Chicago.

Bail was set at $50,000. Curley's next court date is Sept. 24 in Bridgeview.
