Chicago's Poet Photographer Barry Butler Discusses New Book
The Evergreen Park Public Library will host famed Chicago photographer Barry Butler in a virtual presentation on Dec. 3.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Famed Chicago photographer Barry Butler will talk about his new book — “Chicago: A City Above All. Book of Photography” — on Thursday, Dec. 3, hosted by the Evergreen Park Public Library. The virtual presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
Although Butler shoots around the world, Chicago is his muse. His images are planned 24 hours in advance, and some photographs take months of preparation if he’s waiting for particular weather conditions.
“I hope people realize that Chicago is the prettiest city in America,” Butler told My Modern Met. “From the lake, from above the skyline, from the river, from a rooftop, from the South Side, from the North Side, from the West Side, Chicago is gorgeous from so many angles.”
