'Sugar Daddy' Arrested In Undercover Sex Sting: Police
Evergreen Park police said man solicited teens on mobile app stating that he wanted to be their "sugar daddy."

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A Chicago man was nabbed in an undercover sting when he tried to solicit an underage girl on a mobile app, prosecutors said. Miguel Zhagnay, 38, appeared before Cook County Judge Terry Gallagher on felony charges of indecent solicitation, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, travelling to meet a minor and grooming.
According to the charges, an Evergreen Park police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl began conversing with Zhagnay via a mobile app, who told the girl he was 21 years old and wanted to be a “sugar daddy.” Zhagnay allegedly continued to engage the girl in sexual conversation.
The prosecutor said Zhagnay, who told the undercover cop his name was “Anthony,” arranged a meet-up on Oct. 31. Zhagnay is alleged to have instructed the teen to buy a new bra and panties. Police said Zhaghnay told the teen he’d be driving a red van and asked about her sexual experience. When Zhagnay is said to have arrived at the prearranged meeting spot, he was arrested by Evergreen Park police.

Zhaghnay’s attorney told the judge that his client was the sole caretaker of his family.
“He’s a good man. We would certainly be asking for an extremely fair bond,” the attorney said. “He couldn’t continue his sole care taking duties otherwise.”
