Toyota Camry Driver Tries To Lure Boy To Car: Police

A man driving an older gray Toyota Camry offered a ride to a boy Monday afternoon in Evergreen Park, police said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A man driving a Toyota Camry reportedly tried to lure a boy to his car on Monday afternoon. Evergreen Park police are asking residents who spotted a suspicious car or person not normally seen in the neighborhood to call them with any information.

Around 2:40 p.m., a boy was walking southwest on the 3400 block of Maple Avenue in Evergreen Park. The boy told police that a Hispanic man driving a gray Toyota Camry drove up beside him and asked if the boy if he wanted to get into his car. Police said the boy refused and the Toyota Camry was last seen headed north on Central Park.

The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his thirties or forties, with short black hair and a short beard.

The car is a gray 2004 Toyota Camry, Illinois license plate S237272 with a dent on the rear passenger bumper.
