Sr. Cherubim Cukla, OSF, passed away August 31, 2020. Sister entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1940, making final profession of vows in 1946. Sister worked as a registered Pharmacist for more than 23 years, almost half of which were spent at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She also served in hospital administration for eight years and then ministered as a Director of Religious Education for 21 years. In all of these ministries, Sister relied on the “Cherubim” Choir of Angels to guide and support her.
Survived by sister Cecilia, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Julia (Babicz) Cukla; stepfather Gracian Romaniewicz; sister Mary and Janet.
Services will be private.
